2019 BMW S1000RR Launched In India

BMW has unveiled and launched all three variants of the S1000RR in India. The flagship model was first showcased at the EICMA 2018. The latest update comes nearly a decade later, since the launch of the RR’s first generation. The 2019 BMW S1000RR was teased on the BMW’s official India page, and was speculated to arrive sometime in the month of June 2019. BMW has delivered with the launch timeline. The three variants comes in the form of Standard Rs. 18.50 lakh, Pro Rs. 20.95 lakh and Pro M Sport Rs. 22.95 lakh, all prices are ex showroom, pan India. Deliveries, however will commence from August 2019. 

BMW S1000RR Instrument

Powering the new S1000RR is the same 999 cc engine but has been considerably reworked to such an extent that the in line four engine sports an all new design. This helps the bike in producing 207 hp of power at 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. The latest generation gets a bump of 8 bhp of power than the predecessor with similar torque figures. However, the drastic change on the lated S1000RR is the addition of BMW ShiftCam Technology, which allows variable valve timing and valve stroke on the intake valves. This helps the rider to access more power throughout the rev band. The engine comes mated to a 6 speed manual with an up/down quickshifter. The bike gets various electronic aids, like, a six axis IMU which helps power the cornering ABS and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). The bike gets a 6.5 inch TFT coloured display and choice of four riding modes : Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race.

The 2019 BMW S1000RR will be pricier than the outgoing model, which starts from an ex showroom price tag of Rs. 18 lakh. The bike goes up against the likes of Yamaha R1M, Kawasaki ZX 10RR and Ducati Panigale 1299.
