Bajaj will introduce the Avenger 160 ABS in coming month. However, the brand sees the Avenger 160 ABS as a replacement to the currently sold Avenger 180. The reason to introduce a lower capacity bike instead was to root up clear differences between the smaller capacity and 220 cc variant. The management at Bajaj felt 180 and 220 sitting close to one other in the company’s lineup and wanted to appeal broader based customers. With the placement of 220 closer to the 180, customers ended up splurging a little more amount, creating a huge stocks of 180 unsold. However, with the Avenger 160 ABS the company plans to clear off this issue. The replacement will share its engine with the 160 NS variant which produces 15.5 hp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Rest will remain same.
The Bajaj Avenge 160 ABS is said to be a tad bit pricier than the standard Avenger 180, due to the inclusion of the ABS equipment. The Avenger 220s ABS also sees a hike close to Rs. 10,000. Nonetheless, the Avenger 160 ABS will continue to be the most affordable cruiser in the Indian market.
