Benelli is making a good run after a long dramatic pause. The company is able to find some momentum with the Indian buyers and is expanding rapidly to hold a good segment of it. The brand is planning to launch two new motorcycles by the end of the year 2019. However, the catch is, Benelli will try to entertain its entry level enthusiasts who are looking to enter into 250 cc segment. The brand plans to launch TRK 251 (entry level ADV) and Leoncino 250 (scrambler style motorcycle) by the end of this year. Both the bikes will follow suits of their elder siblings and will attract customers with unique segment plays.
The Benelli TRK 251 was unveiled at EICMA and is similarly styled to the likes of TRK 502, albeit in smaller form factor and proportions. With the TRK 251, the brand will be entering into an entry level adventure tourer motorcycle which is on the rise in the Indian market. The bike will come with dual channel ABS as standard and has a possibility to be offered in two variants. When launched, the bike will go against the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan (Rs .1.8 lakh) and BMW G 310 GS (Rs. 3.49 lakh). It however, remains to be seen how brand will price the TRK 251.
The Leoncino 250 will be company’s gamble with an entry level scrambler in India. The bike will be similarly styled to the recently launched Leoncino 500. Given by Benelli’s price placement, the Leoncino 250 will the most affordable Benelli for the India buyers. What will also work in brand’s favour will be Leoncino’s scrambler styled motorcycle which is unlike in this segment. When launched, the Leoncino 250 will go up against the likes of KTM 250 Duke, Yamaha FZ 25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250.
