BMW Vision DC Roadster Unveiled

BMW unveiled its very first all electric two wheeler vision. The Vision DC Roadster is the first of 25 two wheelers that BMW proposes to launch by the year 2025. This all electric two wheeler will be a part of 25 electric bike, of which majority will be all electric. The launch which was said to take place by 2025, has now been preponed to 2023, as the company feels confident for delivering on the infrastructure in next 4 years. The Vision DC Roadster is a low slung, aggressive postured motorcycle with two battery packs protruding out of the body to mimic the look of a two cylinder boxer layout. The bike uses a tubular frame milled from lightweight aluminium to emphasise driving dynamics.

Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design BMW Motorrad, spoke about the brand’s future and said, “The Vision Bike shows how we’re able to retain the identity and iconic appearance of BMW Motorrad in distinctive form while at the same time presenting an exciting new type of riding pleasure. After all: anyone who’s ever tried it out in practice knows very well that riding on two wheels is just as exciting when its electrically powered! The high level of torque right at set-off makes for breathtaking acceleration. This almost brutal power delivery creates a whole new experience of dynamic performance. And the BMW Motorrad Vision DC Roadster puts a face to this experience.”
