For the upcoming 2019 Formula 1 season, the Racing Point F1 Team has officially revealed the car it will be competing with. Having competed as Force India in its previous season, the team had to register as an all new entry in the second half of the 2018 Formula 1 series, as the Vijay Mallya led administration fell short which was then taken over by a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll.
The team continue to sport pink livery owing to its principal sponsor BWT, however has added a chunk of dark blue at the front and rear quarters of the machine . The team has also announced global technology and entertainment company, SportPesa as new title sponsor.
Despite posting strong results on the list during the season runs, the team fell short as financial constrains made Force India drop out from the title ownership of the team. Making the invitation of addition as a new entrant mid season, this seriously damaged the overall performance of the team. However, the team is now in better shape and this year’s car will be lapped by Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll as chief drivers.
Speaking about the overall preparation and spirit working of the team for 2019, Otmar Szafnauer, CEO and team principal said, “After months of hard work behind-the-scenes it’s incredibly exciting to come to Canada and present our new identity. The long-term aim is to take this team to the very top of the sport. We are putting the building blocks in place and it’s important we take a good step forward in 2019 as we begin this new era. We want to be fighting for podiums on merit and aiming for a strong top-four finish in the championship.”
