Red Bull Racing has released the official pictures of the brand’s 2019 Formula 1 season contender, RB15. Powered by an all new Honda engine, the RB15 sports a new livery. Coined as the ‘one off’ the brand hints to switching back to its traditional colour scheme post this season. A same strategy was also done by the team earlier in 2017 and 2018, where a complete radical livery was showcased at first and then switched to traditional design during the race.
The RB15 is the first car to be powered by a Honda engine. Earlier the team used to rely on Renault’s engine and had been using to power the car for 12 long years. Toro Rosso will continue to use Honda engines this year, giving Honda two F1 teams for the first time since it had Super Aguri alongside its works outfit in 2007-2008.
The team has a new driver to steer the championship. Pierre Gasly, former Toro Rosso driver will now replace Daniel Ricciardo who moved to Renault this year. Gasly will drive alongside partner Max Verstappen. The team joined Mercedes at Silverstone to give the RB15 its lap as part of an official filming day before pre season testing kicks off next week.
