Honda’s middle weight, fully faired motorcycle which was recently announced by the company has started reaching official dealership. Priced at Rs. 7.70 lakh (ex showroom, pan India), the Honda CBR650R already generated a lot of buzz post the official launch. The CBR650R is a successor to the CRB650F. The brand will sell the bike via Honda’s Wing World showroom and at a recently opened Honda BigWing dealership in Gurugram.
Powering the CBR650R is a 649 cc, inline, four cylinder engine which produces 95 hp of power at 12,000 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The 650R also features a slipper clutch and Honda’s version of traction control : Honda Selectable Torque Control System (HSTC). The 650R comes equipped with dual channel ABS and a 41 mm Showa USD fork and a mono shock takes care of the suspension duties. The new Honda CBR650R now looks a lot like the Fireblade. The 650R also gets a smilier Fireblade treatment with a new full LCD instrument cluster. The riding position is also enhanced to a more sportier appeal. The bike will be available in two colours : Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. The CBR650R will go up against the likes of Suzuki GSX-S750 (Rs. 7.46 lakh), the Kawasaki Z900 (Rs. 7.70 lakh) and Kawasaki Ninja 650 (Rs. 5.89 lakh).
