The KTM 790 Duke which was much in hype and talk about has seen some form of delay. The bike, which was earlier rumoured be launched in November this year has been postponed for next year, with the context of uncertainty. The cause of delay has been tagged due to issues in its homologation. The bike was spotted testing last year in Bajaj training facility. Few dealerships had started taking bookings for the bike with a security of Rs. 30,000. The bike is rumoured to come with a price tag of Rs. 8 lakh at the time of launch. The company will also localise some parts of production, but it’s noting drastic to compensate with the localisation.
The KTM 790 Duke is powered by a 799 cc, parallel twin engine that produces 105 hp of power and 86 Nm of peak torque. When launched the bike will go up against the likes of Suzuki GSX-S750 (Rs. 7.46 lakh), Kawasaki Z900 (Rs. 7.69 lakh), Triumph Tiger Street Triple S (Rs. 9.19 lakh) and Ducati Monster 821 (Rs. 10.99 lakh), all with ex showroom price tag.
