Maruti Suzuki today launched the XL6 in India. The iteration based on existing on Ertiga, is makers premium offering from Maruti Suzuki and will be channeled via Nexa experience in India. The six seater MPV is launched in two variants Zeta and Alpha with prices starting from Rs. 9.80 lakh (ex showroom). The design is mostly uncanny to the likes of Ertiga. The front of the XL6 is dominated by a bold and broad larger grille with chrome detailing, new LED headlamps with integrated DRL’s, a chunkier bumper and a faux skid plate. The XL6 gets blacked out 15 inch alloys and side mirrors along with plastic side body cladding. The side visually remains unchanged. At the rear, the XL6 gets a slightly redesigned taillights with faux skid plate and reworked bumper cladding. Maruti offers six colours : Nexa Blue, Brave Khaki, Auburn Red, Magma Grey, Premium Silver and Arctic White.
The interior gets an all black theme with features like 7.0 inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility which doubles up as parking camera, automatic climate control, rear air con vents, automatic headlamps and wipers,, keyless entry with push button start/stop, cruise control, height adjust for the driver’s seat. Standard safety comes in the form of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed warning system and seat belt reminders for the driver and co driver.
The XL6 is powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 105 hp of power and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is found in Ciaz and Ertiga. The engine comes mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed torque convertor automatic. The XL6 goes up against the likes of Honda BR-V, Mahindra Marazzo, Renault Lodgy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
