In recent development, Royal Enfield is planning to spread its territory by rapidly expanding to the international market. The brand is facing some serious flak in India for consecutive nine months but has been gaining momentum rapidly abroad. Leading the maker divert the attention from domestic users to international audience. The brand is said to launch the 650 cc Twins in the first quarter of 2020 in Brazil. The brand will first introduce the Interceptor 650 onto the Brazilian market followed by the launch of Continental GT 650 depending upon the number of orders for the latter. The company is confident that the Twins will be the highlight in the motoring industry of Brazil. The makers have also planned to set up a manufacturing unit in Brazil to extent its wingspan to other continents and fulfil international demands.
Its the first time where the company has been hitting new lows in domestic market while gaining rapid reputation in the international segment. Speaking about the reports Claudio Giusti, Country Manager, Royal Enfield Brazil, said, “The Brazilian subsidiary has been one of the brand’s biggest bets in recent years, so we are opening dealerships in new squares and looking into the possibility of starting a local CKD operation in the future.”
Both the bikes, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are powered by the same 650 cc, twin cylinder block which produces 47 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque. A 270 degree firing order along with a counter balancer for smoothness, the 650 twins have managed to rid themselves of most of their legacy issues. Transmission is handled by a six-speed gearbox and a slip-assist clutch. The bikes are also said to receive extended list of accessories which are said to surface by the end of the April 2019.
