January 23, 2019
It seems Tata Motors was far more serious about following the true definition of the term Harrier. In case you don’t know, it means – ‘a person who engages in persistent attacks on others or incursions into their land’. And a rather ruthless attack it indeed has been, The Pune based carmaker has just released the pricing of the Tata Harrier finally and they have literally decimated the competition with it. To be made available in a total of four variants, the Tata Harrier pricing has been set at a starting point of just INR 12.69 Lakhs. It is to be noted that the pricing is introductory right now, but needless to say, Tata Motors have just bombed the dreams, desires and will of all its rivals in submission. We reckon the war has already been won.
The variant wise (ex-showroom) pricing
for the Tata Harrier is as follows:
As for the specs, the Tata
Harrier as you would already know is based on the same platform that the
current Discovery Sport does. In the departments of heart, it gets the
brilliant Fiat-sourced 2.0 litre multijet ‘Kyrotec’ unit that makes a fairly
decent 140Ps@3750rpm of max power and a peak torque rating of
350Nm@1750-2500rpm. Now, these figures are less than the ones that the same
engine makes in the Compass, however, they are good enough for the Tata Harrier
as per the team.
In terms of styling, the Tata Harrier gets to have more upmarket styling of segments clearly way above its own. In short, it is a stunning vehicle to behold that offers great interiors as well. In terms of features, the top spec Tata Harrier in its XZ trim offers the likes of – an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and there is an another 7.0-inch screen for the part-digital instrument cluster.
The music needs of the occupants is handled by a well sorted out JBL sound system. Then there is good quality leather upholstery on offer as well. You also get a reverse camera along with automatic headlights and wipers while automatic climate control and cruise control are also on offer. And as for the safety net, you get six airbags, ABS with EBD, a hill-hold and descent function. There is also a presence of corner stability control and a rollover mitigation system.
With this pricing and an Automatic Variant just round the corner, Tata Motors have literally destoryed every other SUV under the INR 25 Lakhs mark. Right now, the likes of Compass, XUV500, Creta, Ecosports, and even Kicks and Duster must be meeting up at a bar and finishing up the stock in sorrow. Stay tuned for more updates on the Tata Harrier and the rest of the market as well.
