The much anticipated and global drawn VW’s project the T-Sport sketch was displayed on the board for the very first time. Meant to compete on the small scale SUV for the global lineup, the T-Sport is VW’s one of the most anticipated projects. The T-Sport SUV is said to make its debut in flesh sometime next year. Jürgen Stackmann, a member of the manufacturer’s board showcased a first sketch of this SUV via a Twitter. The overall design seems to be inspired by VW’s other coupe SUV lineup and will feature a prominent coupe-ish stance. This new SUV will be underpinned by the MQB A0 platform for emerging markets, similar to India bound T-Cross SUV.
The new Volkswagen T-Sport will share its wheelbase (2,560 mm) with international updated VW Polo and is expected to be under 4 meters in length. This makes the T-Sport an enticing proposition against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V which are emerging in South American markets. Back to India, the company plans to launch four new models alongside its sister brand Skoda. The company has launched a progressive 2.0 plan for India, which will introduce the updated Indian spec variant by the beginning of 2020. The company is also updating the ageing VW Vento and will launch the facelift updated version by the end of 2020. The plans to launch T-Cross is innards for next year. The T-Cross will go up against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500, Skoda Kamiq (launch soon), Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos and MG Sector.
